We are painting the town orange…

We are delighted to be taking part in ‘Paint the Town Orange’ – Blackburn Youth Zone’s latest fundraising campaign. Participants must think of creative ways to raise funds of at least £700 before the end of October – but they must stick to the orange theme!

The goal of the corporate challenge is to raise vital funds and awareness for the Youth Zone, with a focus on supporting young people’s mental health and wellbeing.

The funds raised are going to be used to appoint a new targeted support worker to help young people overcome life’s challenges – someone who will be needed more than ever in a post-Covid world. According to data from the NHS, in 2017, 1 in 9 children aged 5 to 16 were identified as having a probable mental disorder. This has risen to 1 in 6 during the pandemic.

All corporate businesses within Blackburn and Darwen are invited to participate in the corporate challenge, with fundraising ideas including:

    • Orange bake sale
    • Orange window display
    • Wear something orange day
    • How many chocolate oranges can you eat in 5 minutes?!

We are excited to get started on our ‘orange’ fundraising and we will keep you updated on our progress! We can’t wait to see everyone’s creative ideas of raising money for such a worthwhile cause.
