You may be aware that on Saturday 27 June 2020, our friend and colleague, Faye Holden, sadly passed away at Pendleside Hospice after a battle with cancer.
Everyone at PM+M was incredibly saddened by the passing of Faye who was a much respected and valued member of the team. Faye joined PM+M in 2000 and over the years she became an integral part of the business. Her professionalism, passion for life and dedication to her clients shone through and we will all miss her terribly. Losing Faye at such a young age is a huge loss, and we extend our thoughts and collective condolences to her family and loved ones.
We wanted to do something in Faye’s memory that would make her proud and happy. Faye was a keen supporter of Pendleside Hospice, who provided care and compassion to Faye towards the end of her life. On average, it costs £1,965 per day for someone to be an in-patient at the hospice, with yearly running costs totalling over £4 million and only 22% of grant funding coming from the NHS. This means that the hospice needs to raise over £3 million each year from charitable donations to keep their doors open.
Faye herself had previously raised money for Pendleside Hospice through swimming the length of the English Channel, so the PM+M team have decided we should continue that theme but go even further by covering the distance of crossing the Atlantic – a staggering 3,320 miles from Blackburn to New York.
From 1 August, we will be continuing Faye’s fundraising legacy – our team will run, walk, cycle, swim, horse ride, roller skate, skateboard or do any other form of exercise to hopefully hit our target mileage by 30 September.
This is a huge challenge for our team, and any donations to spur us all on and to help Pendleside Hospice continue delivering their incredible and much needed care in Faye’s memory will be greatly appreciated, however big or small.
If you are able to make a donation, please visit our Pendleside Hospice Just Giving page (accessed via this link).
Please also keep an eye on our social channels (LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook) for updates on the progress we make, and be sure to give us a like and share to keep us going towards our target!
Thank you very much in advance.
