100 years of PM+M

To celebrate our centenary year, we recently held a festival themed event for clients, contacts and friends. The party, which took place in the grounds of Samlesbury Hall in Preston, included an afternoon of live entertainment, acoustic music from Steven Heath and street food.

PM+M was founded in Blackburn by Richard Porter, John Matthews and Walter Hindle Marsden in 1919. Throughout our history, PM+M has remained fully independent and now employs 116 people with an annual turnover of £6.5m.

Earlier this year, we kicked off our 100th birthday celebrations by renaming our Blackburn headquarters ‘New Century House’. Other great achievements from the past year include being named as one of the UK’s top 100 firms by Accountancy Age and more recently, launching a new website signifying our commitment to strengthening the PM+M brand.

Jane Parry, our managing partner, said: “2019 has been an historic year for PM+M. We are incredibly proud to be based in the North West, and the fact that we are going strong after 100 years is testament to our great team and the strong relationships that we have built with our clients and the wider business community.

Jane added: “We work with clients of all sizes across the UK, as well as internationally, but the firm has always had deep Blackburn roots and we are proud of our relationships with local businesses and communities. We wanted to hold the party to thank as many people as possible for their ongoing support and collaboration.”
