In our latest blog, financial planning director, James McIntyre, discusses his decision to move to PM+M twelve months ago and explains why the future is looking even more exciting due a recent name change (from Wealth Management to Financial Planning) and an ambitious growth strategy.
I decided to move to PM+M in November 2020 – in the midst of a global pandemic. A time when people may understandably be more cautious but when great opportunities present themselves in life, you must grasp them. This also meant I was able to spend two months of garden leave with my one-year-old son – a time I will always treasure!
It was a huge decision for me, having provided advice to some amazing people across the previous nine years; people who had become friends. In our industry, it is commonplace to have contractual restrictions where we are unable to contact clients to say our ‘goodbyes’.
Although it was heart-breaking to move away from these amazing people, I don’t regret the decision for one moment. Since joining PM+M in January 2021, I have thoroughly enjoyed myself and have met some great colleagues and clients. PM+M are a wonderful company who are able to offer an array of technical advice and professional services, all under one roof. In my opinion, this is invaluable to clients that we offer advice to.
Twelve months down the line, in my role as director at PM+M, things are only getting more exciting! I am pleased to be working with new clients, eager to meet new people and looking forward to seeing some familiar faces.
In this new chapter at PM+M, our wealth management arm of the business has recently changed its name to PM+M Financial Planning, as we feel this better reflects how our team of specialists can support clients who come from all walks of life. This transition has been announced at a time as we continue to roll out our ambitious growth strategy over the coming years.
