PM+M is ‘real deal’

PM+M are celebrating after winning a coveted award for the part it played in the £8 million sale of Lancashire firm Science in Sport.
The judging panel of the Lancashire Dealmaker Awards, held at Ewood Park, awarded PM+M the Real Lancashire Deal of the Year gong for the ‘careful management’ of ‘complex issues’ during the sale.
Jim Akrill, Director of PM+M Corporate Finance, played a crucial role in life sciences business Provexis plc’s acquisition of the then family-owned and Blackburn-based business Science in Sport.
He said: “We often see shining examples of what can be achieved by families in business at PM+M, and Science in Sport is a remarkable example of this. We feel the award is recognition of our commitment to family businesses across the county and represents the considerable scope and abilities of our corporate finance team”.
PM+M has had an impressive run of award wins and nominations in recent months. Danielle Vollentine, Business Services Adviser, was handed the Rising Star Award at the ICAEW North West Awards, and trainee Lucy O’Gorman was honoured by the Chartered Institute of Accountants following exceptionally high marks in her financial accounting examination. The firm are also shortlisted in the county-wide Red Rose Awards.
