Financial planning

Our approach, practical and straightforward

Our comprehensive approach centres around the following six simple steps:

  1. Establishing our relationship.  At our first meeting, which will normally take place without charge, we’ll establish what you would like us to do and explain how we work.  And we’ll give you some indication as to the cost of any work we’ll undertake for you on a fixed fee basis.

  2. Gather data and understand goals and aspirations. It is really important that we understand you and what you want to achieve. No two clients are the same and time spent understanding your situation will help us to find the best solutions for you.

  3. Evaluate financial status. Once we have all the data we need, we'll assess and summarise it to determine your financial status. Our system is clear and simple and the results can be distilled onto one piece of paper. For some clients, we’ve found that just getting all the information together in one place is a major step towards peace of mind.

  4. Develop recommendations. By knowing exactly where you are now and understanding where you want to get to, we can work out a plan for getting you from A to B.  That’s where our experts can be really creative and work out a solution that addresses your individual needs. They’ll take into account investment strategy, your attitude to risk and any taxes that need consideration.

  5. Implement. Once we have agreed a plan, we can progress to implementing it. Whether you’re planning to invest in your child’s education, planning the succession of your business or simply want to build a nest egg for your retirement, all the composite parts of the services we provide will be costed and fees agreed with you in advance.

  6. Monitor. Regular monitoring of your financial affairs is essential in helping you to achieve your goals. We’ll meet with you, usually on an annual basis, to assess progress and identify further opportunities. We are accountable for the work we do and want to work with you for the long term.
